Spice Village sits in verdant spice gardens within the small town of Kumily, just outside Periyar National Park. The hotel, owned and run by CGH Earth, takes its green credentials very seriously; it’s easily one of Kerala’s most environmentally friendly hotels. Fortunately this hasn’t distracted them from first class service, comfortable rooms and delicious cuisine. The cottages are really quite smart yet feel rustic and in keeping with the village and jungle like surroundings. On top of this there’s a pool, cookery lessons, nature walks, badminton, tennis, yoga, a spa and indoor games. It’s an ideal option for both families and couples who are looking for facilities and comfort in this part of Kerala.
